It is truly a historic day in the story of The United States of America. I think it shows great progress for our country that the first African-American has been Inaugurated as the President of the United States. It makes me feel that we are becoming a place where color, gender, creed, or orientation is not what defines the American people, but content. This past election cycle, the content that was elected is admittedly not my preference. However, I do look forward to my children being raised in the society of equality that I envision.
As for content, the Inaugural Address contained not so thinly veiled promises of collectivism, communism, and a weakening of our National Security efforts. I will continue to speak out against policies that are clearly not within the bounds of the US Constitution. I wish President Obama good luck in his coming four years, I hope that he gives an actual ear to policies of fiscal restraint. I think that it won’t happen, so if nothing else, I will be guaranteed to have fodder to opine on for the length of this President’s administration. I again leave you with the words of John Wayne, “I didn’t vote for him, but he’s my President. I hope he does a good job.”
After watching the inauguration, in my opinion I’ve observed responses from 3 types of people.
1. The Obamaites- The radical socialist left wingers who worship him as a god.
2. The Haters- usually right winged people who already hate him and loath the next four years without giving him a chance.
3. The Real Americans- the people who did or didn’t vote for him that are keeping a sound opinion of his potential, and hope he indeed abides by the constitution and gives the power back to the people.
I think it’s healthy for us all to be in #3. What he has shown us so far, is that he can run a hell of a campaign. A campaign is much different from a presidency. He does have some good ideas.
I hope and pray for him and our country, that he doesn’t discount our great military or national security. As Americans, we all shall have faith in God, and our President, that he may do what is best for Americans, and not just for his political party, or the rest of the world.
He now is the President of the United States of America. He is not the President of the democrats, or the liberals. He is no longer a politician, he is an executor. President Obama, and all Americans shall remember that. We also make him accountable, as it is our duty to keep the best person in office or out of office.
It is in his judgment, our fate as a country resides, and now we must all be on the side of John Wayne “He’s my President. I hope he does a good job.”
any way you could format that comment?
I tried to format it, but it didn’t correspond to the format when I post it as approved. Sorry Ty.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but he isn’t African. And I won’t call any black person African-American unless they hold dual citizenship. I haven’t heard anybody refer to whites as European-American. And what if I run into a person whose lineage comes from Jamaica, or Bermuda, or Haiti? Or any of the other islands in that area? Political correctness breeds generations of wimps and losers who have no idea how or why to defend their freedoms and rights, and therefore deserve neither.
I didn’t watch the inauguration. It pains me to see democracy and freedom die to the joyful shouts cheers of the crowd.
I don’t really have faith in our president, but I do have faith in God. The only way out of the muck we’ve gotten ourselves into is through it, and I think God will help those who strive for what is right. So I am trying to be optimistic in spite of everything that is going wrong. Who knows how it will all turn out? Communism done right by the right person is actually a pretty good way of governing.
I actually have heard Caucasians referred to as European Americans. Communism cannot function on the Federal level unless we overhaul the form of government, which would involve throwing out the Constitution. In true Communism though, there is no governing body. It is a collective. That is just not possible on a Federal level.
Rob, Publish your email on your blog so I can email you. We need more posts. It’s been 9 days…
To add. I did watch the Inauguration, and it was kind of embarrassing to see in a foreign country to be an American. The average education of the general public audience must have been of a 2nd grader. President Obama said some powerful things, and paused as any competent speech giver does after saying something with a strong point. After his pauses, the delays of applause were so grotesquely apparent! I doubt most of them really understood what he was saying. As I watched the close ups of the crowd showed many people sleeping. I won’t get too in depth about the way their skin looked as that’s not important.
Now, I wasn’t alive during Martin Luther King Jr.’s outstanding, awe inspiring “I Have A Dream” speech, but I highly doubt there were people sleeping! These problems were also addressed in the President’s speech, stating that as Americans, we need to take responsibility for our own, and have some respect; then only to see the close up of spectators sleeping, and the ones awake with blank stares. HOW EMBARRASSING AS AN AMERICAN it is, when I’m watching it all at a bar in China in front of people from all different countries.
Now, apart from all of that, the Presidents policies so far have been so far LEFT, that I’m very scared of any kind of bi-partisanship. If I were in the United States right now, I would be building myself a bomb shelter.
